What Vending Sales Data Can Tell a Facility Manager
A full machine is not always a well-matched machine. If one drink sells out every week while another sits untouched, that is a clue about demand. Sales data helps a vending operator make small, useful changes rather than guessing.
Begin with three questions: Which items sell consistently? Which slots empty before the next visit? When do purchases increase or fall? The answers may reveal a need for more space for popular products, a different restock day, or a temporary change during a busy season.
Facility context matters too. A sales dip could reflect a holiday shutdown, a construction project, or fewer employees on site. A spike might follow a tournament or a new tenant moving in. Share these changes with your provider so the numbers are interpreted correctly.
Customer suggestions belong in the same conversation. Requests show what people want to try, while purchases show what they keep choosing. Test a few items, give them enough time to sell, and then decide whether they deserve a permanent slot.
You do not need to manage inventory yourself. Ask your vending provider to explain what is selling, what is being changed, and when the next review will happen. A short, regular conversation can turn vending sales data into a better everyday amenity.
